I was born in 1939 in Skowhegan, Maine and grew up in a rural environment. My grandmother made her own bread and butter, canned fruits and vegetables and did all kinds of needlework, including crocheting, knitting, embroidery, quilting and sewing. I learned many of these skills from her and have a real appreciation for the crafts.

I became a schoolteacher in 1969 and taught in Maine until 1980 when I migrated to California and became a business systems analyst. Although I continued to enjoy both needlework and other crafts, I was not able to devote any real time to hobbies until I retired in the fall of 1998. My husband Thomas Campbell had been an amateur photographer for many years and urged me to join him in that interest. The wonderful landscapes of California, and for me, Sonoma County especially, have presented me with a wonderful photographic experience and I continue to grow in that area.

Although I enjoy shooting landscapes and love the wine country vistas, I have a real love for flowers and other plants and really like to get up-close and personal. I also continue the crafts I love, working with fabrics and yarns to create things that bring grace and beauty into life.
